BISON B.C., or BISON as they are considered now, are from Canada and looking to squeeze themselves into the American hearts and eardrums of metalheads of all ages worldwide. Their sophomore release, "Quiet Earth", was believe it or not recorded in only two weeks time and contains nine tracks of devoted music only your mind can withstand. This issue leaves the minds of many other Metal acts who spend long hours, months, or even years in the studio to express themselves perfectly well instead of just going out and throwing out what they got, and then going out on tour to expose their new material.

Well BISON B.C. isn't like those acts; as mentioned they recorded "Quiet Earth" in only two weeks and it's a instant mind blower. The best way to describe "Quiet Earth", would be a mixture of MASTODON, a hazy era of 70's BLACK SABBATH with a thrashing sensation of 80's METALLICA thundering their way through. The album doesn't contain any acoustic guitar or keyboard usage, just pure flowing Heavy Metal action from start to finish. The centerpiece of "Quiet Earth" is the two part "Wendigo", which takes up a fourth of the album. The first part goes into its epic nature, opening with a tranquil violin and cello combo before flooding the gateways unveiling a groove of sound and then going out with an extended outro.

The guitar work is done at a high point when displayed in "Wendigo Pt. 1 (Quest For Fire)", which contains a memorable minute and a half guitar solo that blows the album to pieces. The second part, "Wendigo Pt. 2 (Cursed To Roam)", goes down a different route taking on a Thrashing beast that brings on moments that METALLICA's "Fight Fire With Fire", presented. When it comes to "Dark Towers", BISON B.C. provides a pure but true track that goes Thrashing unlike any other offered, having its Punk undertone making it more intense and crazy and hectic to bang your head to, proving to us the band can drive and deliver pure Thrashing exposure and energy to go completely insane when they choose to. "Slow Hand Of Death" goes into its rough and wild method with guest vocalist Jamie Hopper of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD expressing his solid screaming compliments throughout, leaving your eardrums in a sea of blood. Overall, "Quiet Earth" expresses itself well and opens a wide range of music so any metalhead out there surely will not be disappointed by a long shot in this hard worked effort.
