Imagine if MÖTORHEAD, MONSTER MAGNET, JACKYL and NASHVILLE PUSSY were tossed together in a musical blender that threw in a little Jack Daniels for an added kick. What would be poured out would probably sound like Norway's CHROME DIVISION. Grinding and roaring to a fantastic start with the speedy title track, it's kind of hard to fathom that well-known Black Metal superstars (namely Shagrath, DIMMU BORGIR) are behind this kind of raging Rock n' Roll. But the MÖTORHEAD worship isn't the only thing CHROME DIVISION has up their sleeve.

The raunchy and rockin' "Wine Of Sin" will undoubtedly be a live anthem and proves that Eddie Guz's gruff vocal approach is more than apt for this style of Metal. "Raven Black Cadillac" is as equally anthemic as "Wine Of Sin", and the crunch of "The Devil Walks Proud" finds the band leaning more towards W.A.S.P.-styled riffs than Lemmy-driven burners, but said burners do reappear with "Life Of A Fighter" and "HateThis Town". A flurry of different tempos and flawless solos from Randy Black gives "Hate This Town" a nice array of sonic attacks, and things also get a little Southern with the punky yet country fried "The Boys From The East" and the 8-cylinder roar and melody of "Doomsday Riders".

The cover of ZZ TOP's "Sharp Dressed Man" really isn't out of place, but "Bad Broad" and "Let's Hear It" sound a bit too familiar. And that's what starts to work against CHROME DIVISION - when you first hear "Booze, Broads And Beelzebub" you are ready to don your leathers and jump on some two-wheeled terror machine that's hell bent for the horizon. But after a few listens the music blurs together and is better suited for background music at the meanest biker bar in town. That's not to say "Booze, Broads And Beelzebub" doesn't pack a wallop, it's just that after a slew of hard miles it gets a little road worn. "Booze, Broads And Beelzebub" will be a guilty pleasure for all those metalheads that still dig that hard-hitting, Rock 'n Roll that's hopped up on speed, sex and Metal. So if you are ready to kick a few back and rock out, get those aviator glasses, a dusty leather jacket and let CHROME DIVISION rip.
