Breathing new life into Old School Thrash, EVILE are the new defining essence of everything the genre once stood for. And with the donation of "Enter The Grave" EVILE complete the classic Thrash revival trinity in 2007, alongside ONSLAUGHT's "Killing Peace" and EXODUS' "The Atrocity Exhibition - Exhibit A". Between these three landmark albums we finally come to find with no lack of certainty that the purity of the original style so many of us were raised on is alive, well, and has once again been nurtured to fruition. And the fact that EVILE are a relatively new band, with "Enter The Grave" being their first official full length release, is even more encouraging in its proof that the style has transcended a generation without having lost an ounce of the potency and full throttle aggression that made Thrash such a landmark movement in the Metal market.

You'll not likely find a band more loyal and in synch with their inner Thrash monster, adept as they are at crafting crisp, eviscerating, scythe-like riffs, driving drum rhythms, and no holds barred Thrash vocal grit. Even the lyrics seem to have been cultivated from the nostalgia of the original Thrash era, with the mandatory mosh anthem manifesting in "Thrasher", blood thirsty sharks swimming across the bloodied waters of "Killer From The Deep", and what has to be a theme heretofore never given musical life: the legacy of iconic '80s movie bad ass John Rambo in "First Blood". Honestly - how much more engrossed in '80s Thrash Metal can you be than by writing an entire song (and a potent one at that) about Rambo? Does it get any more Old School than that? Not likely.

"Enter The Grave" also comes with the ultimate mark of legitimacy, something synonymous with some of the most legendary albums in the history of Metal: one of the original gods of Metal production, Flemming Rasmussen. If the name rings a bell, that's because it should. This man brought us METALLICA's "Ride The Lightning", "Master Of Puppets" and "...And Justice For All", as well as MORBID ANGEL's "Covenant" album - now if that doesn't ensure a quality product, then nothing does. Putting all the pieces together, it's no wonder "Enter The Grave" is such a dominant and well-executed display of pure Thrash mastery. And what is perhaps the most encouraging element here is the fact that EVILE are a young band who, with one lone release, have reestablished the standards that once ran rampant throughout the '80s, laying waste to all. So the odds are more than a little in favor of EVILE becoming a band for the ages, nostalgic to the bone yet bearing with them the capacity to re-elevate classic Thrash Metal to the pinnacle it once so dominantly maintained, and perhaps even beyond. If you thought Thrash was dead, think again - it is very much alive and well; it is here and waiting for you - all you have to do is "Enter The Grave".
