According to my high school physics book, an "Ohm" is a unit that measures electrical resistance. Now, if Ohms were the proper unit for measuring how much an album completely and utterly blows, the title for GZR's third album, "Ohmwork", would be more than appropriate. GZR is the name of Geezer Butler's solo project, and if this is the type of material the BLACK SABBATH bassist is interested in, then perhaps it's a good idea that the SABs aren't working on another album. After listening to ten tracks of nu-metal riffs, nu-metal vocals, nu-metal drumming and nu-metal bass, I've come to the conclusion that "Ohmwork" is nu-metal. Don't expect any SABBATH-y doom riffs, because all you'll get is noise: unimaginative guitar riffs that are heavy, because "Heaviness is cool... Am I cool, kids?"

When the vocalist is not rapping, or imitating Fred Durst's incredibly whiny voice, he is screaming in that "I'm so hardcore" style that every other band in North America subscribes to. When BLACK SABBATH emerged in the '70s, they sounded like no other band in existence. So, what in the world would possess Butler to form a band that sounds like everyone else? With song titles like "Misfit" and "Pardon My Depression", "Ohmwork" is the perfect album for KORN fans to paint their fingernails to.

There's really no point in doing a song-by-song review here because the songs all sound the same, making this album one long ride through Boringville. Listening to "Ohmwork" is like having someone stick a straw in your ear, and suck out your IQ for 43 minutes. It's ironic that Terry Butler goes by the name Geezer, as he appears to have forgotten what metal is all about.

Ohm my god this album is awful.
