Vancouver-based thrashers INFERNAL MAJESTY have gone through a few major changes over the past three years; the most significant being the recruitment of new lead vocalist Brian Langley. The second is the band's overall direction. It seems that since Langley's addition, INFERNAL MAJESTY as a collective unit have become so much more focused on what they are doing; their vision is clear and they've never been hungrier.

After spending the better half of two years writing and recording, the band have revealed the first glimpse of brand spanking new material since 2004's "One Who Points To Death" in the form of their new unreleased EP, "Demon God". Not an official release as the band have yet to find a suitable label home, the EP contains six tracks - four demos plus two remakes from their classic debut "None Shall Defy". The material is impressive to say the least. The musicianship, though very raw, is extremely tight and well-structured. What really adds thickness to the music itself is Langley's vocals, which are all over the place throughout. He jumps from traditional Death Metal growls to Black Metal screams then flirts with Thrash-like shouting and goes to hell and back nailing it right on the head like a seasoned pro.

"Burnt Beyond Recognition" ignites with the venomous screams from Langley's throat as the drums, guitar and bass dive right into a pummeling, yet multi-changing anthem that lasts throughout. Just hearing Langley hold the note steadily for 18 some odd seconds at the end of the song is enough to even scare the hell out of KING DIAMOND's grandma. "Systematical Extermination" (also the title of the band's forthcoming album) is a versatile piece with whips and chains lashing from every direction, displaying some of Langley's best work. Axemen Kenny Hallman and Steve Terror dig their fingers deep into some inventive riffs as well. "Crusade" and the classic Thrash-sounding "Nation Of Assassins" pave the way towards the two remakes - "S.O.S.", which features CANNIBAL CORPSE members George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher on vocals and Rob Barrett on guitar and "Skeletons In The Closet" with Chris Valagao (ZIMMERS HOLE). Both are well-done remakes, but "S.O.S." takes the cake with Fisher's signature growls.

INFERNAL MAJESTY are in a solid position with this new material and that should enable them to deliver the goods with "Systematical Extermination", whenever it does get released. The "Demon God" EP clearly demonstrates what the band are capable of and is a beefy meal to tie you over until the next full-length. Keep in mind that this is a limited edition EP, so if you want to hear the new songs, waiting is not an option. You can pick it up at one of the band's upcoming live shows. Make haste!
