METALEATER Exclusive - New FEAR FACTORY Documentary Photo Book Being Released This Tuesday
Posted: February 15, 2009
METALEATER can announce that photographer Omer R. Cordell of Seventh Frame Photography will be releasing his brand new FEAR FACTORY documentary book, entitled "Inside The Machine" [view cover], this coming Tuesday, February 17. The 64-page book contains approximately 250 photos chronicling FEAR FACTORY out on tour.
Speaking exclusively to METALEATER, Cordell stated: "It's a book that I've been working on for many years now... since 2004. I was out on tour with FEAR FACTORY for the first part of 2004 when 'Archetype' was released, and started following then around ever since. Every once in a while I'd go on tour and jump on a bus for about a week and just basically just get all my images together. The book was technically supposed to be a bigger version of what it is now, but unfortunately due to some certain events it didn't really come to be what it was supposed to be. So, this book now is almost like a watered-down version of what it used to be."
"Inside The Machine" is self-published, thus it will only be available for purchase through Blurb.com both in soft cover and hardcover versions.
Cordell's goal was to provide a unique perspective for FEAR FACTORY fans through on stage imagery. "I think in a way it will kind of give fans an insight or view of the band on tour," says Cordell. "Many people don't really have an idea as to what a band does in between shows or after-show or pre-show and I hope that this book will kinda paint a general picture as to what happens in between the show and what happens behind the drum kit and how I see it from the stage and such, 'cause a lot of the footage was shot from the stage as well, so the fans can see what the band sees. So kinda give the people that kind of perspective as to how things work and how I personally have perceived the band and perceived the band seeing the fans. So that would be one thing the fans can get from this."
When asked what his experience was like on tour with FEAR FACTORY, Cordell said: "I had a blast on tour (laughs). They are funny guys; they're great. In downtime, we had long bus rides sometimes and such and it was just nice to see that everybody has their own place and as an outsider they were very welcoming to me and it was a pleasure and I hope to do that again sometime."
