THE ABSENCE Sign With Metal Blade
- March 23, 2005
Tampa, Florida's THE ABSENCE have officially inked a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records. Having previously self-released an EP that received great praise, THE ABSENCE will be taking the world by force with their upcoming full-length and live shows; laying waste to all in their path and carving their name in the world of melodic metal. The band will enter Manna Studios on April 10 with producer Erik Rutan (INTO THE MOAT, SOILENT GREEN, HATE ETERNAL) to record their first Metal Blade release, scheduled to be out in the fall. THE ABSENCE will be touring relentlessly both nationally and abroad in support of their debut release.
The band commented, "We are very excited to be on Metal Blade Records, a label we have all grown up listening to and look forward to joining the ranks of such heavy hitters as AMON AMARTH, KING DIAMOND, CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE CROWN and so many other great metal bands."
Metal Blade president, Mike Faley said, "It is a pleasure to add THE ABSENCE to the Metal Blade Records roster. Their aggressive form of metal is fresh and heavy. They must put something in that Florida water, because they follow in the footsteps of SFU, CANNIBAL CORPSE, and our young band INTO THE MOAT in presenting a fresh new sound to metal."
THE ABSENCE lineup:
Jamie Stewart - Vocals
Patrick Pintavalle - Guitar
Peter Joseph - Guitars
Nicholas Calaci - Bass
Jeramie Kling - Drums

LACUNA COIL Break The 200,000 Mark
- March 23, 2005
LACUNA COIL's critically acclaimed album, "Comalies", has just broken the 200,000 U.S. SoundScan plateau. This marks the first time a Century Family artist has reached this illustrious benchmark. The accomplishment comes on the heels of the Active Rock radio success of the powerful singles "Heaven's A Lie" and "Swamped", which also exploded at Fuse and MTV2. The band spent the past two years touring relentlessly with the likes of ANTHRAX, OPETH, P.O.D. and TYPE O NEGATIVE only to emerge as Ozzfest 2004's breakout artist after consistently outselling all other second stage acts each week. Led by the undeniably captivating vocalist Cristina Scabbia, LACUNA COIL garnered mainstream acclaim from such publications as Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Stuff, among others.
LACUNA COIL are currently in the pre-production phase for the highly anticipated follow-up to "Comalies" with longtime producer Waldemar Sorychta (SENTENCED, MOONSPELL). Cristina checks in with the following report on the band's songwriting progress: "We are working on the new stuff and I can tell you it is definitely killer! We are really proud of the new songs and we are still composing new material. We plan on presenting some of the new tracks this summer at festivals around Europe; check out the dates at LacunaCoil.it and EmptySpiral.net. Thanks for the great support you've given us since we started. We love you and we are ready to come back to kick some serious ass!"

CALLENISH CIRCLE - New Album Update
- March 22, 2005
CALLENISH CIRCLE have posted this message on their official website:
"Last couple of months we have been working very hard on our new (and meanwhile 5th) studio album. So far we have written the complete basics of 6 new tracks and we have plenty of cool material & ideas left for the rest of the album. It's just a matter of putting the right ideas into song structures and work out the details. Some of the new song-titles are "This Day You Regret", "Sweet Cyanide" and "As You Speak". The recordings for the new, yet untitled, album are scheduled in May & June over here in The Netherlands with Gail Liebling (mastermind behind GAIL OF GOD). The mix will be done in Denmark with Tue Madsen (a.o. THE HAUNTED, ILLDISPOSED & MNEMIC) at the well-known Antfarm Studio. Last but not least the album will be mastered by Peter Neuber at Mega Wimp Sound in Germany. At the moment we haven't decided on the artist for the artwork yet.
The new material music wise... welL... just imagine the best of what we did on both Metal Blade albums, add some really cool groovy parts and combine this already deadly cocktail with some high-tech wacky soundscapes, delivered by mr. Liebling himself. Furthermore the new album will feature a bonus DVD with a lot of cool video footage. On this bonus DVD there will be featured a completely professional (audio & visual) recorded live-show (recorded at the 013 venue in Tilburg), a home-video of our trip to the Piorno Rock Festival in Spain, a studio-report of the recordings of our upcoming album and some other interesting stuff. The release is scheduled for November on Metal Blade Records again. After the release we will also hit the road again to promote the album at the live front.
Thrashing regards,
Pat on behalf of CALLENISH CIRCLE."

INSOMNIUM Working On New Material
- March 22, 2005
Finnish melodic death metallers INSOMnIUM have posted this message on their official website:
"Writing of INSOMNIUM's 3rd album is progressing slowly but surely. We had been without training place for almost year since last spring when we were kicked out from our previous one because of breaking down the whole building. Luckily we managed to get us a new and absolutely better one few weeks ago and rehearsing will be much easier for now on. We held also proper rehearsals together for the long time and actually composed a brand new song spontaneously which turned out something different for us. There will be some gigs in the summer but nothing sure yet. We will inform from them later. Shirts are unfortunately and unforgivably late because of the unbelievable slow shipping procedures. They come sale as soon as we get them."

VADER Part Ways With Drummer, Announce Replacement
- March 21, 2005
Polish death metal kings VADER have parted ways with longtime drummer Doc. In a press release on their official website, band leader Peter had this to say:
"We have been building "the VADER's Empire" together since '88... The success of our music was no doubt the success of Doc himself. Not just a talent is but the main point of being a part of a BAND, not only musical abilities but - first of all - devotion, utterance.... We had already such a problems before (Shambo, Simon..). Doc pretty hard tried to "fight" against his weaknesses, which were troubles for all of us. Finally he had not prevail over that battle... All in all he attempted. VADER today is not just a friendship anymore - it's our life with armies of man involved in music, releases and - first of all - fans waiting for shows or new albums... This is a high responsibility, not too many know about. If a person, even the most talented one, cannot stand it - has to leave... That was Doc's decision as well. "But the world keeps turnin'..." and the same is with VADER. We were and we will be!!!
For Doc, his girlfriend and newborn son we all wish good luck and wanna thank him for all those great years, in which we were touring across the world!!!
From now Daray has been officially confirmed as a new drummer of the band. Not really brand new, he has been playing with the band since one year and recorded the latest album "The Beast"."

BRUCE DICKINSON - New Album Track Listing Revealed
- March 21, 2005
Sanctuary Records have issued this press release regarding IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson's forthcoming new solo album, "Tyranny Of Souls", scheduled for release on May 24:
"Bruce Dickinson is an artist who has influenced thousands of singers, musicians and fans alike in his outstanding role as the front man of legendary band IRON MAIDEN. He has achieved great success as a solo artist, and is also acclaimed as a Radio DJ, TV presenter, pilot, author and voice of modern music.
It has been seven years since Dickinson released his last solo album, The Chemical Wedding, which received massive critical acclaim while exploring intriguing and dark themes. The intervening years have seen him make a highly successful return to IRON MAIDEN, with two huge albums and record breaking live shows and tours.
Tyranny Of Souls, Bruce's new solo venture, sees him return once again to collaborate with guitarist/producer/writer Roy Z. The album's cover is adorned with a 15th century depiction of Hell by Hans Hemling and the music continues along this path to explore dark, apocalyptic themes. Delving into science, theology and of course, his love of flight, with thought provoking, intelligent and menacing lyrics that are sure to leave the listener's mind unsettled, Tyranny Of Souls is pure Dickinson. Heavy riff-laden songs and explosive virtuoso guitar work from Roy joined with the definitive Dickinson soaring vocals, makes this ground breaking album a tour de force of modern Metal. It was following on from the end of the last MAIDEN tour that Bruce saw an opportunity to work alongside Roy again.
Dickinson says, "With MAIDEN, once the band has finished up on the tours, we all tend to go our separate ways and do our own thing for a while until it's time to saddle up again for the next album. I knew I could seize the chance to work with Roy in between his work on the new JUDAS PRIEST album. We both work quickly together which I like and the recording is very organic so it came together quite easily. I'm very proud of it."

IN FLAMES Working On New Album
- March 17, 2005
IN FLAMES vocalist Anders Fridén told Nuclear Blast magazine, "Nine or ten songs are written, and the drums will be recorded drums in two and a half weeks." Fridén also stated that with regard to the direction of the album, "it will be more uptempo" and feature "more guitar harmonies." Most of the songs do have titles by now, but Fridén declined to name them, especially since he was still writing lyrics while travelling in support of JUDAS PRIEST. The tour ended on Monday, March 14 in Böblingen, Germany.
Look out for the interview with Fridén in the next Nuclear Blast magazine, where he talks about potentially conservative PRIEST fans, cures for pre-show boredom, being a dad, the "New Metal" tag - and the album. STRATOVARIUS Working On New Album, New Photo Online
- March 16, 2005
STRATOVARIUS have posted this update on their official website:
"After a lot of listening and editing, the basic structure of our 11th album is getting together slowly but surely. After the turbulence of the last year, none of us has known what to expect when going into the studio.
We have used the drums Jörg recorded alone at Soundtrack studio about a year ago. There was about 70 gigabytes of drums, so that took a while to listen to. And bit of tough decisions, and editing, cutting and pasting. New lyrics and vocal melodies have been written, and also some new songs.
Says Timo Tolkki: "I recorded all my rhythm guitars during one evening. God, my fingers still hurt!! There is a construction project going on under my studio. They are building a parking hall and are exploding huge bombs twice a day. Also there is lots of drilling. I am sure that this is the first time in the history of metal that an album has been recorded under circumstances like these."
It has indeed been very hard to record vocals and acoustic instruments. But we are finally getting there, slowly but surely. It's flowing and the feeling is really good. The vocals will for sure be finished before Timo Kotipelto's solo tour embarks. Then of course, the mixing... the mixing... the mixing. STRATOVARIUS has never made a compromise when it comes to the sound and this time with TT in his own studio.. my God, anything under two months of mixing and we'll be lucky. Anyway we would like to thank you, the fans, for your patience and hope that you enjoy this progress report and some new pictures.
With very best greetings,
STRATOVARIUS"

HAMMERFALL - New Album Storms The Charts
- March 16, 2005
HAMMERFALL's brand new album, "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken", has stormed the charts in these countries:
Sweden - #4
Germany - #12
Austria - #36
Switzerland - #9
U.K. - "46 (Independent Albums Chart)
Guitarist Oscar Dronjak had this to say:
"They all were our best so far! Except for Sweden, funnily enough, but that was more due to the competition than anything else. Things are looking very good, very good indeed!
The U.S. release of said album is now scheduled for April 5th, according to the office. It has been postponed a couple of times, but as I understand it, this is a date they'll keep.
Japanese fans of HammerFall can rejoice - as, too, the band, of course - because we'll be back in the land of the rising sun for two shows in a couple of months:
May 20 - Osaka, JAP - Club Quattro
May 21 - Tokyo, JAP - Shibuya O-East
This is great news for us, as we all had an absolute blast (nuclear...?) last time with NOCTURNAL RITES. Too bad they won't be coming with us again this year. But we will somehow manage without them, and I'm sure it's going to be fantastic! From there, we will undertake the short trip to the other side of the planet, meaning South and Middle America. I have no dates for that yet, but rest assured we'll be back in at least Brazil, Chile and Mexico, among others!
You can still vote for HAMMERFALL on MTV Up North, we're steadily climbing the video chart, airing every week on Monday afternoon. Either click here or follow the banner to the right to vote for some metal among the usual drone otherwise streaming out from the TV stations. You can also watch the "Blood Bound" video online at this location. Take care, and "Let The Hammer Stand"! :-)"

OZZFEST 2005 Officially Announced!
- March 15, 2005
The 2005 edition of Ozzfest has officially been announced, and as expected, it's a big one! Here is the official press release:
"It's big. It's bad. And it's back for more. Got a problem with that?
Ozzfest - the king of festivals - triumphantly returns this summer to celebrate its hard-earned 10th anniversary with the staggering line-up of BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, ROB ZOMBIE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SHADOWS FALL and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The summer's premier concert festival - which has propelled many of today's rock bands to superstardom while paying close attention to its discerning fans - will roll out July 15 in Boston and visit 26 cities by the time it reaches West Palm Beach on September 4. The Hot Topic Second Stage will be headlined by ZOMBIE and feature a preview of rock's rising stars, including AS I LAY DYING, MASTODON, THE HAUNTED, IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMY, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, BURY YOUR DEAD, SOILWORK, TRIVIUM, IT DIES TODAY, A DOZEN FURIES and more.
"I'm most proud of the success of Ozzfest," says founder Sharon Osbourne. "Everyone said it would never happen and 10 years later we are still in business." In fact, 125 bands, 238 shows and over 4 million fans later, the all-day extravaganza of music and deranged merriment is roaring louder than ever. History in the making, 2005 marks the first time metal legends BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN have toured together and also represents IRON MAIDEN's first Ozzfest appearance.
IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson said, "This summer's MAIDEN touring is based on the recent 'Early Days' DVD and all the songs we do at Ozzfest will be from our first four albums - 'Iron Maiden', 'Killers', 'Number Of The Beast' and 'Piece Of Mind'. We will be bringing over our full European show, naturally including as special guest Eddie in various appropriate guises!! The stage sets, production and backdrops will recreate aspects of the shows on the tours around those albums - only bigger... much bigger!!! We don't know if anyone has done anything like this before but we think it's something the fans will really appreciate both in the choice of songs and in the production values."
Also debuting on the tour will be Texas-based band A DOZEN FURIES who landed their coveted Hot Topic Second Stage slot after winning Ozzy and Sharon's MTV "Battle For Ozzfest" reality series competition. Debuting last fall and lasting right up until the February launch of the fourth and final season of the Emmy-award winning "The Osbournes", "Battle For Ozzfest" is the ultimate battle of the bands, with contestants having survived 2004's grueling Ozzfest challenges.
This year, a limited number of fans who purchase OZZY OSBOURNE's first-ever 51-song, four-CD retrospective box set "Prince Of Darkness" (out March 22 of Epic Records) will be able to obtain one free Ozzfest ticket. The initial pressing of the box set will feature a precedent-setting promotion allowing fans to buy one Ozzfest general admission ticket and get one free.
Ozzfest, originally launched in 1996 as a limited two-city trek, has become a virtual breeding ground for up-and-coming bands. The renowned second stage has been instrumental in catapulting the careers of SYSTEM OF A DOWN, LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT, INCUBUS, SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED, GODSMACK and CHEVELLE. "Playing Ozzfest - twice - will always be among the highlights of our career," notes drummer Samuel Loeffler of CHEVELLE, who most recently appeared in the festival’s 2003 line-up. "Personally speaking, I was honored and somewhat nervous about sharing the stage with Ozzy, but finally felt comfortable after both he and Sharon patted me on the ass."
The heavy metal juggernaut has earned a hallowed position in the busiest tour season with a relentless commitment to its core fans and the consistency of quality they demand as their birthright. Just as the festival is committed to presenting the best music, it also provides an interactive, multi-sensory experience for concert-goers with a wide-range of attractions. The traveling show's notorious "Village Of The Damned" - alive with tattoo artists, piercing booths, state-of-the-art video games, a wide range of vendors and much more - promises to be wickedly tempting.
JUDAS PRIEST - one of the biggest attractions on last year's tour - declared: "We were thrilled to be part of such a unique moment in heavy metal history that will be remembered forever!" DESTRUCTION Reveal New Album Title
- March 10, 2005
German thrashers DESTRUCTION have posted this message on their official website:
"At the moment 'our boys' are recording the new album, 'Inventor of Evil', together with Peter Tätgtren, V.O. Pulver and their live engineer Franky Winkelmann.
Three different studios in Germany, Switzerland and Sweden will be involved in the production process!
The mix will be done by Mr. Tätgtren at the Abyss Studios in Sweden.
Release date for Europe will be August 15th on the new label AFM Records. In the rest of the world the new masterpiece will be released a little later this summer.
It looks like some surprise guest will be featured on the new album (like ex-guitarwizz Harry)
Nevertheless there will also be a new tune featuring many 'well-known' metal singers from all exciting styles for a song that is dealing with more unity and tolerance in the 'scene!'
Rumours say that the famous 'butcher' will have an impressive return on the frontcover!"

MEGADETH - More Offshore Tour Itinerary In The Works
- March 10, 2005
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted this message on the band's official website:
"Droogies!
Yesterday I had the priveledge of talking to my awesome International Agent Mr. Mike Dewdney about the upcoming European tour this summer, as well as the Japanese and Oz tour.
I expressed to him my desire to play Poland, Russia, Greece, Turkey, France, Portugal, Israel, and the Czech Republic before we end and he confided in me that there is an offer for France, Greece, Turkey, Israel, the Czech Repulic, Iceland, and possibly another Spanish show, and that he was working on Portugal, Russia, and Poland. So keep your fingers crossed!
Also, I asked him if we could do Perth in Oz and he said he would look into it, but any of us who are Australian, or have visited that beautiful country knows it is a world away from the East Coast of Oz. We will do our best, but right now just please be content with knowing that I am trying. We are considering going to Indonesia, and New Zealand too, because it is home to many kewl Droogs and one of my favorite singwriters (you'll prolly hate him) Neil Finn.
So the summer is firming up fine. I will check into the all ages things at the shows, but sometimes that is beyond my control; it is either in a place like that or nowhere. And if ya can't get into the show, hang out by the backstage area. We'd love to visit with ya, which in some cases is better."

DARKANE Mixing New Album
- March 10, 2005
DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström has posted this recording update on the band's official website:
"The DARKANE album ("Layers Of Lies") is being mixed at the moment. This upcoming weekend we will record the cello and double bass for the intro and some other parts of the album and then we´ll finish the mix, mastering and send it all to Nuclear Blast for printing. The release date is still set to June 27. Last Sunday I was watching the filming of the side story to the video, 'Secondary Effects'. I think it will be great!
I'm also very excited right now becuase at this moment Ryan (van Poederooyen) is laying down the drum tracks to NON-HUMAN LEVEL in Vancouver. I know it will kick ass, but it's a pain that I can't be there and hear it for myself! Ryan will hopefully put up a video clip from the drumming session on his own website.
Something completely else: In October 2002 Peter (Wildoer) and I participated in a very cool project called 'Seven Deadly Pieces - A Concert for Chamber Orchestra and Thrash Metal Band'. We did a live show in Helsingborg which was recorded and will be released on DVD later this year. The author of the piece, Lale Larson, who's also a very good friend of me and Peter has put up a trailer on his website for download. The most brutal metal parts of the concert is not included in the trailer, but you will see some of Peter and myself in a new environment. You have to be open-minded so don't expect to see metal if you download it, but very strange and cool and well-arranged music! Check it out! I love it!"

MEGADETH Mainman Talks About "Of Mice And Men" Video
- March 8, 2005
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted this message on the band's official website:
"Droogies!
It has come to my attention that some of the people that have seen the "Of Mice and Men" vidi are stumped why the "young Dave" would be playing a Jackson King V (in fact the famous number "1" silver King V and the kid bled on it). I am amazed that the effort to show a true to form progression of what I played then, and choose, I repeat choose to play now - over Jackson - my ESP DV8 could be mistaken or misinterpreted.
Although everything in life is open to one's individual visual interpretation and the artistic license for the said viewer, PLEASE UNDERSTAND I endorse and fully stand behind the great people, treatment, and superior instruments of ESP and LTD guitars and basses. There is no comparison in my eyes or hands for that matter, and I know. My name was on both of these guitars right up around the headstock if ya didn't notice.
Period! And that's how the cows ate the cabbage."

U.D.O. Mixing "Mission No. X"
- March 6, 2005
German metalmeisters U.D.O. have posted this message on their official website:
"The band was working a lot in the last weeks to finish the recording of the new album, which will be titled "Mission No. X". Stefan is finishing the mixing sessions in these days. The result sounds killer!!!!
One week ago in Pulheim there was a photo session for this new album, it was a lot of fun...
The reason why the gig was cancelled in Spain was that Igor (Gianola) broke one finger in his left hand, just 1 week before the gig. So he was unable to play for about 3 weeks, he just started in these days to play a little bit."
"Mission No. X" is tentatively scheduled to be released this coming summer through AFM Records.

INTO ETERNITY Commence North America Tour
- March 5, 2005
Canada's very own INTO ETERNITY have commenced their first North American tour in two years. Following the third night on their first U.S. trek in support of their 2004 album, "Buried In Oblivion", guitarist/vocalist Tim Roth reported in with this message:
"Hey Everyone! We are on the road in the U.S. right now. Things are going better then we expected. The responses from fans have been the best part of this trip. Our hometown show kicked off our tour and then we made the long 18-hour drive to Colorado Springs. At that show we met our tour mates BEYOND THE EMBRACE. They are killer guys and a great 3-guitar band filled with life. The fans seemed happy that we played their town. Horns up to Will with the Armageddon shirt!
Next city on the trip was Tempe, Arizona. The drive was another 16 hours, but we did it, no problem. This was the first show with AMORPHIS, and we also met SINGLE BULLET THEORY. Both bands are completely different people and play completely different music, but both are really cool. This show went so well for us, and I think the whole crowd had a copy of "Buried In Oblivion". It was an amazing feeling.
Then we finally made it back to Los Angeles. Our first stop, after the Hustler Store, was Filthy Phil's show on KNAC.com. Rob, Stu, and I sat with Phil for an hour in the studio talking about everything from touring and the album to hockey! A big thanks goes out to that guy for supporting INTO ETERNITY! Next we flew back across town to the Key Club on the Sunset Strip is a killer place to play. Our label came out to support us, which was really nice to see, and our publicist took us to the Rainbow Bar & Grill for a meal and drinks. That club is totally famous. After that, we did an interview with the famous adult film star Jasmin St. Clair. That was a highlight for sure. The show was killer. Crowds here can be tough, but we pulled it off. We hope to see everyone on the road soon.
Keep it metal!!"

In an official statement, Peavy says: "After our fantastic anniversary tour we were convinced that we want to work with a label that pushes us forward with creative ideas and full power support. With this in our backs we can jump right into the making of our next album. We imagine to do something without stylistic changes but with a wider range of sound. After the good experiences with Victor's latest solo album we want to get the Whiterussian Symphonic Orchestra involved, similar to what we did a couple of years ago on "Lingua Mortis". MEGADETH Guitarist Sets Sights On Japan/Australia
- March 4, 2005
MEGADETH guitarist Glen Drover has posted this message on the band's official website:
"After a lllllllooooooooooooonnnnnnnggggggg flight home (over 16 hours with flight change and plane delay - snow storm in Toronto - go figure) I am now getting back to normal home life, beit for a short time. It's nice to be home with family.
I am really looking forward to this upcoming Japan/Australian tour, as I have yet to visit (let alone play to) these places, but that is about to change. I believe we may have a few days off in Australia before the announced shows, so I am already plotting on which beach is closest to our hotel and/or possibly getting in a round of golf if possible - Maybe Dave and Shawn will be interested in another round in perhaps less windy conditions. Regardless, I plan on having a GREAT TIME!!
Japan will be a great place to find as many record/cd shops as I possibly can - I am a cd junkie, so when I get a chance, I will be all over this.
I look forward to seeing all of you on this part of the tour."

SEVEN WITCHES - DVD Update From Jack Frost
- March 3, 2005
SEVEN WITCHES mainman/gutarist Jack Frost has posted this update on the band's official website:
"Recently you all have either heard about or read about the issues we faced and had to deal with at Crocodile Rocks in Allentown, PA concerning our recent DVD shoot. Since James and I posted our letters of apology and thanks to our many fans, under 21 or not, we've received many, many letters of support from our fans a crossed the nation and from the bottom of our hearts we sincerely appreciate it. You, the fans, are the reason we do what we do.
I was contacted by David Stevens, manager of Crocodile Rocks, the other day and allowed him to explain his side of the story. Although I won't go into specific details about the conversation, we did end the conversation on good terms. Dave is a gentleman who offered the band, our fans and me a sincere apology and a sound explanation about the whole situation. We thank Dave for being an upstanding and decent person about this.
On another note, our former booking agent, Tammy Taylor, contacted me as well and also offered a sincere apology for her part in this matter. Right now we're looking forward to the DVD release, more touring and an end to things like this. Our fans matter more than anything to us, so we hope nothing like this ever happens again.
Thanks for all the support, and we'll see you on the road soon!"

EDGUY - New EP Coming In September
- March 1, 2005
EDGUY vocalist Tobias Sammet has posted this message on the band's official website:
"Just a short message: We've just come back from our trip to Granada, Spain to play the Atarfe-Vega-Rock festival. It was a lot of fun, although it's been pretty cold in the venue. That was not what we expected from Spain but however, you people who were there were really great. Some technical problems on stage and we couldn't bring the whole show, but what the fuck - we gave our best and you gave your best, that's what counts. We all had a great evening!
After the show we had a kind of pre-birthday party for Eggi, together with the PRIMAL FEAR guys. Great guys, great fun. We will not mention any details, I am not gonna reveal that Jens woke up in his bath tub full of water and that I had to be carried out of the venue by two of our crew guys later that night. Well, you see: We had fun!!! Felix had a food war with himeself which is not very funny. There's a lot of people who starve while two Kiwis accidently slipped out of Felix' hand and exploded on the wall. To his excuse we should mention that he wouldn't have managed to throw them to Namibia anyway. So I want to stress we can't speak about waste of food in this case.
Meanwhile we are working full-steam on our new EP that is estimated to be released in September. A full length album is to follow early next year. I liked the concept of delivering a big value-for-money thing as the official single last time just like the King Of Fools EP. We got very good response to that and we are so creative at the moment that there will be a lot of material as it seems. We'll see, can't tell too much at this point. But we are working on that one. Anyway, the material sounds good, sound like EDGUY, very fresh, very cheeky and of course epic at times. You'll hear it later."
