PARAGON bassist Jan Bünning has posted this message on the band's official website:

SCORPIONS Guitarist Issues Tour Update
- October 31, 2004

SCORPIONS guitarist Rudolf Schenker has posted this message on the band's official website:

"I know it´s a little late but I want to sincerely thank all of you for the lovely birthday greetings. As you know, the last few months have been very arduous to us due to preparing for and completing our Asia tour. It was a very great and successful tour.

We flew approximately 50.000 km (31,000 miles). In addition to all the travel keeping us very busy between the concerts, the big time-zone differences left us with some jetlag.

A virus in Japan weakened part of the band and crew but as tough scorpions we stung through all of the difficulties so that the Asia Tour could have positive results. The fans in all countries were totally AMAZING and we had a great time with them. We also would like to include New Caledonia, Dubai, Bucharest and the Czech Republic. Those fans surprised us with their fantastic reactions and hospitality. Now we are on tour in the USA and we enjoy the euphoria of the American fans. As you see, we are staying very busy with the tour and we hope that we reach all of the fans during the Unbreakable Tour.

Many greetings and Keep on Rocking

Yours Rudolf"

VADER - New DVD Out Now!
- October 31, 2004

VADER have posted this news on their brand new DVD on their official website:

"The second DVD of VADER entitled "Night Of The Apocalypse" has been released a few days ago. It's a REAL DVD consisted of a few professionaly shot gigs. There's no place for any excesses and amateur takes- only the highest possible sound and image quality! The release has been eclipsed by "The Beast", nevertheless it's worth your attention, definitely! The DVD contains 3 gigs of VADER and backstage stuff (interviews with members of the band). The leading part of the release is a gig from TV studio Krzemionki, Cracov from 2002 (with Simon on bass), dynamic and professional mix of 9 cameras, superb lights and sound! The second gig was filmed & recorded during Metalmania Festival 2003 (great mystical show, pure carnage for your ears and eyes!), the third one it's an opening show for SLIPKNOT and METALLICA, where can be seen and heard a real power of the band. It's just a killer release for VADER fans!"

SHADOWS FALL Vocalist Diagnosed With Laryngitis
- October 29, 2004

SHADOWS FALL vocalist Brian Fair was recently diagnosed with not only strep throat, but also laryngitis. However, he refuses to cancel any performances because of it. Fair states, "I have never cancelled a show due to poor health and don't plan on it now. The support of our fans means the world to us and I would never do anything to let them down. Besides, if Curt Shilling can lead the Red Sox to a World Series victory with a sewn up ankle then I can tough it out and bring the metal."

SHADOWS FALL will be featured guests on this week's Headbangers Ball special Halloween edition, set to air on MTV2 this Saturday night Oct. 30th at 10PM EST/7PM PST. The show will be composed of interviews and segments of the band playing live taken exclusively from the Blood Rayne 2 release party filmed at the Los Angeles House of Blues last Thursday Oct. 21st. The episode will also include the world premiere of the group's new video, "What Drives The Weak," shot by acclaimed director Zach Merck (12 STONES, ATREYU).

The band's massive co-headlining U.S. tour alongside DAMAGEPLAN and THE HAUNTED kicked off earlier this week.

CRADLE OF FILTH - A Filthy Halloween
- October 29, 2004

CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has posted this message on Roadrunner Records' official website, informing us what the band's plans are this Halloween:

"This year is gonna be a special kind of celebration for us. Firstly, we are not always together as a band on this so special of holidays. We usually spend the time with our fiends in our hometowns attending private parties or spooky back street night clubs, etc... But this year is going to be great because we are actaully doing a show in Quebec, the first of the world tour for the new album Nymphetamine. Seeing as the show is already sold out, it's a pretty exclusive party and how better to celebrate than to have your fave band Cradle of Filth perform for you? I know everyone will be dressed for death and to fit in with the atmosphere of the new album. I hope all the beautiful females in the audience are going to make this a night for us to remember, too."

- October 29, 2004

Belgian death metallers ABORTED have posted this message on their official website:

"We've been very very busy with writing the new album. The concept and title are already taken care of by now, but we'll keep that for ourselves for the time being. Riffs are flying around and we're putting pieces together as we speak. It'll be exciting to get everything done by the time we go terrorize (producer) Tue Madsen (at Antfarm Studios in Denmark), haha!

Good news is that Mr. J from HATESPHERE is going to do some guest vocals on the album, and another guest, which we will announce soon as well. All I can say is that I'm fucking thrilled to have those persons growl along on this new album!! Artwork is in the making so we'll probably hit you with samples next month or so.

To those of you who heard about us being on the No Mercy festivals... Well we are no longer on them, label politics or something like that... Anyways we WILL see you on the road since we'll be embarking on a full European tour with our friends of IMMOLATION! So keep your eyes open for updates!"

LOST HORIZON Search For New Vocalist
- October 27, 2004

Swedish power metallers LOST HORIZON have posted this message on their official website:

"BACK TO THE MAGIC OF OLD TIMES!

As many have surely heard, the label Music For Nations no longer exists. This is an effect of the merger between Zomba, who owned MFN, and BMG. Consequently Lost Horizon has been released from their contract, and they are now free to negotiate with other labels.

In relation to this, vocalist Daniel Heiman and guitarist Fredrik Olsson announce their leave from Lost Horizon in order to pursue other projects. Since they have been pulling in a different direction than the rest of the band for some time, all six agrees that this is the best solution.

The remainder of the band Wojtek Lisicki, who only just returned to Lost Horizon, Christian Nyquist, Attila Publik and Martin Furängen, will continue the magic voyage – back from where they started out in 1998! Work on the third Lost Horizon album is under way, and already more than half of the material has been completed.

If you who read this know that YOU are the coming world-class singer of Lost Horizon, do not hesitate to send a sample of your work (either as mp3 or write to ask for an address).

Lost Horizon has already received offers from several labels, and other interested parties are welcome to approach us.

A new era has begun!

And at last - Lost Horizon can savour the luxury of not being stressed!"

HAMMERFALL - Album Recordings Nearly Completed
- October 23, 2004

HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posed this message on the band's official website:

"As I write this, we have only half a day of recording left, doing the backing vocals. For the past seven weeks, we have been hard at work on this, our fifth studio effort, and it's wonderful to be finished! When I have a bit more distance to the recordings, I will try to describe the contents so you will know what to expect in March. However, I can safely say that if you are a fan of HammerFall, you will not be disappointed this time around, either. We poured our hearts and souls - as well as blood, sweat and tears, mind you - into the production of this record, and I definitely think it shines through: the music is more alive than it ever has been before.

We shall see what the professional music lovers will think about it next Saturday, when we will have a big listening session here at Lundgård for journalists from all over the world. It should be interesting and fun, but it's also a little nervous presenting your new material to other people. Especially to those who will put their first impression in print for thousands and thousands to read. :) But I'm not really worried, as I know we have done our best and created another landmark in the upwards-moving evolution of our music. Praise is great, but neither good reviews nor bad ones would ever influence us in one direction or another. We are artists creating musical pieces for the world to love hate or disregard. Now, it is up to you do pass judgment. Our work is done, and I have to tell you: it feels fuckin' great! Up the Hammers!

/Oscar"

LAMB OF GOD Drummer Discusses Politics, Band's Sound
- October 21, 2004

LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler recently spoke with Vancouver's Straight.com. Here are some excerpts from the report/interview:

Politically aware Americans that they are, the five members of Lamb of God have been paying close attention to the presidential debates of the past few weeks. What they've seen isn't going to change their votes, though, mostly because they've already done their bit for democracy. Singer Randy Blythe, guitarists Willie Adler and Mark Morton, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler all filled out absentee ballots before they left their home state of Virginia for their current North American tour. Asked who they supported, the articulate and thoughtful Chris politely takes the Fifth.

"That's an interesting question to ask, and I'm not necessarily going to answer it," says the timekeeper, on the line from a Whistler, Massachusetts tour stop. "I'm only opposed to telling you because recently we've been getting a lot of politically themed questions. I guess that's to be expected, because that's what we write about. But our lyrics don't tell people to vote for George Bush, or John Kerry, or Ralph Nader--we're saying to people, 'Think for yourself.' And I'd rather that people do that when they go to the polls."

Like its lyrics, Lamb of God's music is never straightforward. Ashes of the Wake is loaded with intricate, double-time drumming, tightly coiled twin-guitar interplay, and enough solar-flare leads to satiate the most demanding of extreme metalheads. At a time when most major-label rock is ProTooled to death, LOG, which appeared on the main stage of this year's Ozzfest, also makes a successful attempt to keep things organic. After working with Strapping Young Lad's Devin Townsend for 2003's As the Palaces Burn, the band put producer Machine behind the board, resulting in a record with a punchy, organic quality seldom found on major-label albums.

"Devin is renowned as a metal producer, and he definitely made us sound amazing," Chris says. "But this time we wanted to step out of the metal box. Rather than trying to keep up with what everyone is doing, we were looking to redefine what we do. Machine has done everything from King Crimson to a lot of remixing work on the rave scene. He took us in a direction that was scary at first. This record makes it clear that Lamb of God isn't just a mechanical, speed-metal band, but instead is capable of operating on different levels."

NAPALM DEATH Commence North American Tour
- October 20, 2004

Birmingham's fathers of grindcore, NAPALM DEATH, kickoff their 36-date North American tour tonight with their headlining show in Toronto, Canada. The first eight dates the band performs with MISERY INDEX, and the remaining dates take the band across the U.S. with CANNIBAL CORPSE, KATAKLYSM, and GOATWHORE.

Always outspoken about politics, NAPALM DEATH vocalist Barney Greenway had this to say about the elections:

"If Bush gets voted in for another term, people really need to take a long, hard look at themselves. With Bush back in power, there'll be more unjustified military intervention, more shitty healthcare provisions for the poor, a country mired further in religious dogma etc. Not to mention seeing more of Jeb Bush's fat head on TV. On the other hand, the Democrats don't offer a real alternative. They're very close to the Republicans on a few issues, which is disappointing. I noted how some of the anti-war advocates in the Democratic Party were silenced quite early on. The crazy thing is that voting for the Green Party guy Ralph Nader is considered a pointless exercise, where as he is one of the only people to offer radical thinking. Based purely on his thoughts, I would probably go for Nader if I was an American.

That said, I think the whole system needs an overhaul. That whole 'vote-rig' thing by the Republicans in Florida last time was such a farce, people outside of the U.S. just could not believe that Americans would let something like that pass. I find it really amusing that the Republicans cast themselves as pillars of honesty when everything they do is steeped in corruption and self-interest. Similarly, I lived through Thatcher's ruthless conservatism in Britain, and I would not want to go through it again."

NAPALM DEATH released their Century Media debut, "Leaders Not Followers: Part 2" on October 5. For the band's full North American tour itinerary, go here.

CANNIBAL CORPSE Report On European Tour
- October 20, 2004

CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster has issued this report on the band's recent European tour:

"Hey everybody, we're back from the European tour, so I figured it would be a good time to give a report of how things went.

The last time you heard from us, we had just begun the Scandinavian portion of the tour. Everything wound up going very well for us up there, with lots of killer shows. We also got to play with some really cool bands such as Visceral Bleeding, Naglfar and Maple Cross. Many thanks to the bands, fans, and organizers of the shows up there, we had an awesome time.

After leaving Scandinavia, we did a couple of shows in Germany, and then we headed on to the Eastern European portion of the tour. We had some great shows in Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia. It seemed like everything was going really well, and we were very excited, since advance word said that the next show, which was in Belarus, would be sold out with 1000 people. Advance sales for the Ukraine show were also amazing, with a reported 1200 tickets sold.

Unfortunately, things started to go bad the moment we got to the Belarussian border. We wound up being stuck there for 9 hours, dealing with paperwork for customs. We had been to Belarus for a concert in 1998, and we got the through the border considerably quicker, so we weren't expecting such a delay. When we finally cleared the border, we hurried across the country to Minsk, ready to play the show. When we arrived in Minsk, we had a few more customs concerns to deal with, and while we were taking care of those, we learned that the government had banned us from playing in Belarus. They had gone to the concert venue and shut down the concert 2 hours before we arrived, and sent the fans home. This was horrible for us, knowing that we were there, ready to play, and the fans were there, ready to see us, and the government wouldn't allow it. We were very disappointed, but we still thought we'd be able to play in the Ukraine. We were told that we had to do some more paperwork at the customs office in Minsk, which would re-open the following morning at 7 am. This paperwork was needed for us to leave Belarus. We waited overnight in Minsk, and then the tour manager began working at the Belarus customs office. By 10:30 am, we still had not been given permission to leave Belarus by the customs office. We were told to try to get permission at the Ukrainian/Belarussian border, so we began the long drive to the Ukraine. We arrived at the border at 6pm, the concert was supposed to start in a couple of hours, so time was running out, but we were still hoping for the best. Unfortunately, the Belarus border officials kept us at the border until 1:00 am, which left no hope at all to play the Ukraine show. Two shows cancelled because of government/border problems in Belarus. We were disgusted, and very disappointed. It's a terrible feeling, knowing that you can't play for fans who have been waiting so long to see you.

After we crossed the Belarus portion of the border, the Ukrainian border was just as difficult, if not more. We waited there from 1:00 am to 5:00 pm the following day. We now were at serious risk of missing yet another show, the Serbian gig on the 14th of October. The drive there would take more than an entire day of driving, non-stop. Add to this the fact that the Ukraine has some of the worst road conditions in Europe, and trip seemed nearly impossible. We were also forced pay a fee to have the police escort us across the Ukraine to the Hungarian border. Despite these obstacles, we were determined not to miss another concert, so our drivers set out and drove in shifts until we finally arrived in Serbia, at 12:30 am on the 15th of October. The fans were still waiting, even though we were late by several hours. We were able to play, although the curfew did not permit time for our tour partners Spawn of Possession to play. The show in Serbia was excellent, and we were able to play there because of the incredible effort put forth by our drivers Steve and Tony, and our crew- Pol, Brian, Stan, John and Robin. We also need to thank Spawn for helping to get the gear in while we hurried to prepare to play, and the promoters from the Ukraine, Katerina and Oleg, for all of their help at the borders.

In all, our experience at the borders of Belarus and Ukraine was a bureaucratic nightmare. We want to say we are sorry to the fans who we were unable to play for in those countries. We did everything we could.

After the Serbian show, things got back to normal, with a couple of great shows in Hungary and Austria. Now we are back home, preparing for our big fall tour with Napalm Death in the USA. We want to thank everybody who came to the shows on the European tour; you guys were awesome.

See you next time!"

AMON AMARTH - Johan Hegg Checks In
- October 20, 2004

AMON AMARTH vocalist Johan Hegg has checked in with this band update:

"Two shows are in the bag, and the only way to describe the tour so far is success! First show in Hamburg, Markthalle with maximum capacity of 1,200, attracted over 1,100 people. The show went great, and the audience was fantastic! Even though the place was a virtual sauna the fans was going at it like crazy. The day after we struck Osnabrück at the N8 club. Over 700 people showed up for this show, and again a fantastic show. Even though the venue was not quite as hot as the night before, the intensity of the crowd was unbelievable. Keep an eye on the site for further tour reports!"

NOCTURNAL RITES Drummer Recovering
- October 20, 2004

Swedish power metallers NOCTURNAL RITES have posted this update on their official website regarding drummer Owe Lingvall's recent surgery:

"Owe's surgery went really well and he would like to express his grattitude to the fans for all their messages and concern. He is now back from the hospital, at home and recovering quite quickly (although it still hurs like hell, he says). We know lots of you really want to know exactly what happened. Well, Owe was taking out a tent from the ground at his summer house and apparently it got stuck for some reason. After some pulling he got it to come out of the ground, but unfortunately, one of the nails holding it down came out of the ground like a missile hitting his left eye. Massive bad luck...

As soon as Owe is 100% up and running again, we will make plans for the new record and possible shows at the end of this year or early 2005. In the meantime, the rest of us will continue working on new material and be looking forward to the new video clip for "Against the World" to be released.

Heavy Metal is the law, play loud,

Nils E"

VEHEMENCE - Tour Update
- October 20, 2004

VEHEMENCE guitarist John Chavez has provided this update:

"As of right now we just got back from Vegas and the show was a mess. None of the bands got paid and attendance included 15 people. The promoter didn't know what was going on, the stage of half built when we showed up, and fucked the bands out of the cost of us to get there. We canceled our appearance in Tijuana, Mexico due to finances at this point in the tour, and not having contracts or payment to play it. We will be back there soon, its only 7 hours away from Phoenix, so hang in there all that wanted to see us. We will begin touring again in California all the way up finishing this tour in Canada; I will give another lengthy update when this tour is over. Thanks to all and see us at the shows, support your scene or it won't support you. Also visit our secondary website on the ever popular MYSPACE.COM networking website, here is the link. CRYSTAL EYES Singer Mikael Dahl Quits
- October 18, 2004

Swedish power metal band CRYSTAL EYES have posted this press release on their official website:

"After twelve years as the lead singer of Crystal Eyes Mikael Dahl will now hand over the job on the new album Confessions Of The Maker to former Lost Horizon vocalist Daniel Heiman. Daniel and Mikael have known each other since the early 90s when they played together in a cover band. Daniel sang the lead vocals on the song The Wizard's Apprentice on Crystal Eyes latest album Vengeance Descending, and he agreed already several months ago to sing on one or two songs on the new album. A few weeks ago Mikael approached Daniel about singing on the entire album, which he thought was a great idea and accepted. Daniel IS one of the best singers in the world, and Mikael have at several occasions said that if he would let someone else handle the lead vocals in Crystal Eyes it would be Daniel. Everyone is really excited, and we truly believe that this will bring Crystal Eyes to a whole new level.

CRYSTAL EYES drummer Stefan Svantesson began laying down the tracks for the new album last Friday, October 15 at Andy La Roqcue's (KING DIAMOND) studio, Los Angered Recordings, in Gothenburg, Sweden. The rest of the band will start working full time in their own studio, Crystal Sounds, on Novemeber 1 and the plan is to have a first mix ready by the end of November.

Mattias Norén (KOTIPELTO, JAG PANZER, EVERGREY, INTO ETERNITY) has just delivered the artwork for "Confessions Of The Maker". A posting on the band's website reads "Most of you are probably quite familiar with Mattias' earlier work, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it differs a lot from Crystal Eyes' previous albums. It has a quite dark overall feeling to match the mood of some of the lyrics on the album, especially of course the title song's." Check out the album cover here.

ANNIHILATOR - New DVD Coming Early Next Year
- October 18, 2004

ANNIHILATOR guitarist/mastermind Jeff Waters has posted this message on the band's official forum:

"So far, asides from the mountain of old footage me and the Campbell Bros. are going through, I can tell ya one cool section that will be on the "ANNIHILATOR: Ten Years In Hell" DVD (due for release sometime in the early spring 2005):

Many former members have filmed themselves talking about their time and memories in Annihilator and what they are doing now. This includes already-done footage from Mike Mangini, Coburn Pharr, Neil Goldberg and others.

Still to come, footage from Ray Hartman, The Glove, Russ Bergquist, Aaron Randall, Rampage and others!

I am still trying to contact Randy Black and Wayne Darley, to name a few. Randy B. is not sure he wants to be included on this dvd, despite offering him a long segment where he could play you fans some Annihilator tunes, talk about his drumming, his many years with the band and what he is doing now (Primal Fear and drum clinics). I know you all would love to see him in this; me too! C'mon Randy! The world's best drummer = Mike Mangini and Annia-Drum-Legend = Ray Hartman are in; we need ya too cause you are right up there with the big-guys and kicked hard for Annihilator too!!

Gonna be a cool thing; trying to get some live footage of the Never, Neverland line-up and the Dynamo fest in Holland, from MTV Europe! That would be cool but lotsa killer stuff will be on this; almost thinking of doing 2 dvds.

Gonna make a decision on the company that will do this, this week. been waiting for one of the labels for many weeks so decision-time is here!"

BLOODSHOTEYE Seek New Drummer, New Photos Online
- October 13, 2004

BLOODSHOTEYE guitarist Shane has posted this message on the band's official website:

"Well first off we have to give a huge thanks to Patrice Hamelin of MARTYR and Mike LePrieur for their dedication by helping us out filling in on drums this weekend. We wouldn't have been able to do these shows with out you guys, we had a great time meeting you and partying together. As ya'll may know by now our drummer quit the band 4 days before we were to play this weekend of shows, with no notice or anything we had to find replacments at the last minute. There was no way in hell we'd cancel this weekend, to be on the same bill as such great bands as CRYPTOSPY, CEPHALIC CARNAGE & THE END and then playing the Montreal show at The Medley for about 1500 people. There is NOTHING in the world that feels better then being on that huge stage and playing for such a big and intense crowd. Check out hundreds of pictures from the show thanks to Aaron here.

But at some point everybodys luck runs out this has been the most amazing year for BSE with our debut CD released, video, direct support on CRYPTOPSYs tour, opening the Headbangers Ball and other killer shows we never expected any of this. So our luck kind of ran out this weekend I guess it was time for our band to be tested. We got into an accident before we left for the Toronto show which fucked up the car some how. We ended breaking down 10 times before we got to Toronto, lucky we got a tow and switched vehicles and made it. Thanks to Noel for pushing the time slots back we got to play our set, and thats when my head blew a fuse. Of course I didn't have and there were no extra fuses in the building, so The End were nice enough to let me use their head. Then comes the Quebec show once we got into Quebec we took a wrong turn and found our selves back in Ontario, we realized this turned around and by the time we got back to Montreal we hit Friday rush hour on a long weekend. After cursing and swearing up a storm and driving only 30-40kms for over 2 hrs we booked it to Quebec City but were an hour late for our set. We appoligize to the promoter and look forward to playing Quebec sometime in the future. Saturday was the big one when we got to the venue at 2 pm there was already a lineup forming outside the building and the show didn't start till 7:30! We got up and started our set which we got half of it taped (Thanks Jake! it was my fault I know what happened to the tape now) Again bad luck plagued the band I blew another fuse but luckly had an extra right there and after replacing it a tube blew in my head so I played the rest of the set with one tube, and Wills bass strap broke during a song as well. But all in all it was a great show we had never played anything that big before and to see two pits going at once was crazy! Alex from DESPISED ICON came out to do Randys part in FUBAR and just blew us away by his presence, WOW dude that went nuts.

So the hunt is one for a new drummer we have been in contact with a bunch of people and will start auditioning drummers very shortly. If you or someone you know would be interested in becoming part of the BSE crew get in touch with us and we'll go from there. We only have a couple shows booked for the rest of the year in which time we will start demoing new songs and record the new album early next year! Then we plan to hit the road and start playing as much a possible. This machine won't be stopped its only gonna get better from here on out!"

CRADLE OF FILTH - The Show Will Go On
- October 13, 2004

CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has posted this message via Roadrunner Records' website regarding the band's upcoming live dates:

"Our schedule is pretty grueling right now. We have a few injuries at the moment too. Fans in South America will have seen that our guitarist Paul Allender was not present. His stand in for the tour was our studio engineer, Dan Turner. Paul suffered a serious hand injury prior to the tour and we did not want to cancel as we had worked hard planning the trip for months. Paul is now fully recovered in time for this recording session and the U.S. tour which starts on Hallowe'en with Arch Enemy, Bleeding Through and Himsa. I also managed to injure my back during the show in Santiago, Chile but we only had one more gig to play before I could return home and rest. That seems to be recovering day by day."

DARK TRANQUILLITY Re-sign With Century Media
- October 12, 2004

Melodic death sextet DARK TRANQUILLITY - pioneers of the "Gothenburg sound", and an act hailed by Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles as "the best Swedish band on the planet" - have signed a new worldwide recording contract with Century Media Records, the label that released the band's celebrated albums "Projector", "Haven" and "Damage Done".

"We are exceptionally satisfied to announce that we've chosen to continue our cooperation with Century Media for another three albums," the band said in a written statement. "After lengthy negotiations with several prolific labels, the dotted line was finally signed and we have full confidence that we've made the right choice and that there are some excellent years ahead - both for us and for Century Media."

"DARK TRANQUILLITY are the originators and innovators of the melodic death style and a favorite band of the Century Media staff, so we are all extremely proud to continue the professional and very successful cooperation we've managed to have with the band so far," says Leif Jensen, the label's European director of A&R.

As a precursor to the band's new album, "Character" (to be released in January), next month will see DARK TRANQUILLITY issue a low-priced, four-song EP titled "Lost To Apathy". The title track serves as "Character"'s first single; the EP will also include the song's music video, directed by Roger Johansson (THE HAUNTED, IN FLAMES).

The full "Lost To Apathy" EP track listing is as follows:

01. Lost To Apathy (Album version, taken from the forthcoming "Character")
02. Derivation TNB (Previously unreleased, exclusive non-album track)
03. The Endless Feed (Chaos Seed Remix)
04. UnDo Control (Live)

"UnDo Contro", which originally appeared on "Projector", was recorded in October of 2002 in Krakow, Poland during the filming of the band's first live DVD, "Live Damage". This marks the first time it appears in audio form. "The Endless Feed" remix, meanwhile, is an alternate version of a new "Character" track exclusive to this EP.

In addition to the "Lost To Apathy" video, the EP will also include a DARK TRANQUILLITY screensaver. Photos from the video shoot, which took place in the band's hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden, can be viewed here. Expect the clip to debut on MTV2 and Fuse in the coming months.

"Lost To Apathy" gives just a taste of the new DARK TRANQUILLITY studio album, "Character", which exceeds all expectations, combining all the band's beloved trademarks with skilled songwriting and relentless modern heaviness. The album will be released on January 25 in North America, and a day earlier throughout Europe.

DARK TRANQUILLITY will be supporting KREATOR on a European tour in February and March; prior to that, they will perform a Metal Hammer-sponsored Christmas show in London with labelmates ARCH ENEMY and THE HAUNTED. The band plans a return to America in the spring.

KOTIPELTO Checks In From Finland
- October 12, 2004

Home after his first-ever trip to the U.S., special guest appearance at Atlanta's ProgPower USA V, and performances in South America, Timo Kotipelto sends his regards to his fans worldwide:

"The gigs in Argentina and Brazil were superb! The response from the fans was so awesome. A lot of people knew my songs and we had lots of fun on stage. The funny thing was that our bass player's last name Porra (Lauri Porra) is a swear word in Brazil and means something like sperm! :) So the people were shouting his name very loud when I introduced him. The whole trip to Atlanta ProgPower V and to South-America was such an enjoyable journey for me. I hope to get back to play some shows in the U.S. with my band, and also to headline a tour in South America in the near future. Thanks to all cool people I met over there!"

Keyboardist Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) who stepped-in in the eleventh hour to perform with the band, said the following regarding the band's South American shows:

"It was really nice performing with my new friends from the band KOTIPELTO this past week. The audiences in South America are always a lot of fun so it was my pleasure to help Timo out when his regular keyboard player Janne pooped out due to tour with CoB - ha ha. The last gig in Sao Paulo in front of 7,000 crazy Brazilian fans was a nice finish of the Latin American leg, and as I have never been to Cordoba, Argentina before that was also really interesting. Next this mini-tour takes us of all places to Finland."

Kotipelto, whose newest album "Coldness" was released earlier this year by Century Media Records, will be performing 6 dates in the next two weeks in the artist's native country Finland. More information on the performances can be found here. In addition, the band will be playing in Helsinki, Finland with Nightwish December 26th at the sold-out post-Christmas show.

EIDOLON's Shawn Drover Reports From Gothenburg
- October 9, 2004

EIDOLON drummer Shawn Drover has issued this report from Gothenburg, where he is currently recording drums tracks for the next EIDOLON album:

"Hello from Gothenburg, Sweden!!!! I just thought I would give a quick update while I have a minute here. We are in the middle of drum-editing as I write this - all drum tracks went down quite well and without major catastrophic scenarios, which is always nice. About 65 minutes or so worth of music - hopefully of all which will indeed make the record (you never can tell though - we usually record more than we end up using, same could apply here, we'll see).

Andy La Rocque has been great to work with, as well as going well beyond the call of duty in both a professional and personal aspect. He has shown me many cool sights in and around Gothenburg, which has been just great!!!!! Gothenburg is such a cool city to be in and explore. Lots of "rockers" out and about, and the woman - man oh man!!!!! I've never seen so many good looking blonde woman in my life!!! (a bit off-topic, here, but certainly worth mentioning). A very positive experience all around, I would say.

I return home on Sunday, at this time I will be sending Glen a copy of the finished drum tracks - Glen is off on his own adventure in Arizona, as MEGADETH rehearsals commence today. I am quite sure he is having a blast as well!!!!!!!

It's all good here, people - positive vibes are running rampant in the in the wacky metal world that is EIDOLON!!!!!!!!!!"

EDGUY Vocalist Reports From The Road
- October 6, 2004

EDGUY vocalist Tobias Sammet has posted this message on the band's official website:

"Hey boys and girls and in-betweens,

A big fat hello from the flamboyant nonsense-world of Edguy on the road! And a big fat hello from my invisible elephant friend George who is always around! No one else can see, but woe to you who dares to call his existence in doubt! Ask Jens Johansson, George was not amused at all. I am sitting in a hotel in Brazil right now, chewing off my tow nails waiting to fall asleep. Tomorrow we are gonna play Porto Alegre, everybody says a lot of Brazilian top models are from here, well let's see, I am curious if they are into Metal!

The tour is going absolutely great so far, a lot of fun, a lot of non-sense, bad jokes all the time and the greatest fans in the world! It is really hard to mention anything specific as the real top-experience so far. Sure, Los Angeles and New York have been quite big surprises as we hadn't had great expectations before hand. Well, I guess those four North American shows have been a good step anyway, there is talk about some more shows, but of course we don't know anything official yet, let's wait and cross fingers. We would be very pleased to get the chance and play the US and Canada again a.s.a.p., plenty of reasons. Great fans, loud fans, the Hooters bar in Hollywood!

I should mention that it was a pleasure to meet some old friends in Atlanta at the world famous Progpower festival, organized by the world famous Glenn Harveston. Timo Kotipelto and Rob Rock hopped on stage with us to do some guest appearances. Great time, thank you guys!

Then Argentina was great too, we'd never been there before and the people were quite loud. What I didn't like was the flight from Buenos Aires to Cordoba, the plane was looking like a second world war model, actually as far as I can judge it was looking like being in shape of a second world war model. It said Boing 737, but of course you can always put a yellow sticker with a black horse on a red trash can! I don't know! However, we survived and I have a total new view of life now. I see every morning as something special, a gift from heaven, a raison díêtre for the alarm clock.

Anyway, maybe I got a kind of top experience. Sao Paulo. It was such a great experience, we did some live shooting there and it was an unbelievable feeling to play for such a bunch of great and crazy and loyal and dedicated fans. It was more than 9.000 crazy Metal heads in the house and every single one of you guys totally freaking out! What a night. It will remain a memorable night for us too, for many reasons. One was the flying stunt, you can't imagine how it squeezed my balls hanging there for minutes over ten meters up in the air! Ouch! When I hit the ground I had one more octave in addition to my standard seven! ;) Another great gimmick was André from Shaman hitting the stage with us to do a song with us. However, it was a great night and in eneral, this leg of the tour is one more blast.

THANX TO YOU! Without you we would be a bunch of garage musicians in a German basement, rehearsing and whatsoever. Thank you so much, so much, so much! By the way, check out the pic. On Empire State Building in New York I learned that C3PO is a huge Edguy maniac. Of course I couldnít spurn him when he asked me for a picture!

Cheeerzzz, we're gonna try to keep you up to date.

Tobias!"
